The Rift Valley Institute is pleased to announce that RVI Fellow, Aly Verjee, has been awarded the 2019 Oslo Forum Peacewriter Prize for his article, ‘Monitoring Ceasefires is Getting Harder: Greater Innovation is Required’. Aly Verjee is currently a Visiting Expert at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). He is a teacher on RVI’s Sudan and South Sudan Course and most recently contributed to the RVI briefing, ‘After the Khartoum Agreement: Boundary Making and the 32 States in South Sudan’, which discusses the history of boundary-making in South Sudan, and the prospects for the new boundary commissions to resolve underlying disagreements.
