Shamso Osman joined the Rift Valley Institute (RVI) as a Programme Officer in March 2026. She brings over 15 years of professional experience in programme management, peacebuilding, governance, humanitarian assistance, and gender-responsive programming. Prior to joining RVI, she worked more than a decade with the United Nations in Somalia.

Shamso holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mogadishu University and a Master of Arts in Peace, Governance and Development from the United Nations University
for Peace (UPEACE) in Mogadishu, Somalia.
