Ahmed Musa is currently the Governance and Research Lead at Build Up and is based in Hargeisa. He earned his PhD from the University of Nairobi in 2020 through the Governing Economic Hubs and Flows in Somali East Africa project. He has completed two postdoctoral fellowships: the first under the Diaspora Humanitarianism in Complex Crises project (2020–2022), and the second at the Peace Research Institute Oslo on the Holding Aid Accountable project(2022–2024). Ahmed has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, working papers, technical reports, policy briefs, and more than a dozen blog posts, all demonstrating his strong engagement at the intersection of research, policy, and practice in the Horn of Africa.
