The doctorate will be supervised by Justin Willis (Durham University) and Willow Berridge (Newcastle University). This funded doctoral studentship is supported by the Northern Bridge Doctoral Training Centre and will run for 42 months (with a possible 6-month extension) from 1 October 2021.

This is a Collaborative Doctoral Award, offered in partnership with the Research Analysts Department of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Rift Valley Institute. The studentship includes payment of tuition fees, a maintenance award at UK Research Council standard levels and fund for fieldwork and other associated costs.
