The Ethiopian Women Researchers Network (EWNET) has established a dedicated platform, the EWNET Review of Books Series (ERBS), to launch, celebrate and facilitate the critical appraisal of newly published books by women researchers in the social sciences and humanities.

The series aims to contribute to academic traditions of rigorous co-reading, critical engagement and citation practices among communities of researchers.

On 4 September 2026, EWNET will launch the series with a full-day seminar featuring eight books, including four books co-authored or edited by EWNET members and four other selected titles.

The programme will bring together authors, reviewers and participants for book reviews and discussions, moderated Q&A and author-audience dialogue. An afternoon roundtable, “Collaborative Pathways from Research to Publication,” will explore how research develops into publication, key turning points in the publishing process and lessons for emerging researchers. The day will conclude with book signing and networking.
