RVI 2022 Course Updates

The RVI education programme aims to inform influential constituencies working in eastern and central Africa about the people and communities in the countries where they work. It consists of 2 main types of trainings; the Annual Field Courses on Sudan and South Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and the Great Lakes; and bespoke courses tailored for a variety of international organisations.

Since 2004, we have run over 36 annual courses which offer a unique opportunity to spend an intensive week with an outstanding group of experts and fellow participants, away from routine distractions. These courses have provided the basis for an understanding of current political and developmental challenges in three sub-regions.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, RVI postponed the physical running of the annual courses but hope to resume these once we can ensure that we will be able to observe the necessary/ required covid-19 guidelines.

RVI has experience running more than 40 bespoke courses in more than 15 countries since 2012. These tailored courses are designed in collaboration with key individuals and country teams within the organisations and variously cover history, state-society relations, social issues and the political economy of the country in question, providing rich historical context and nuanced contemporary analyses to inform policymaking in the region.

Since 2020, RVI has developed an online platform where we continue running our bespoke courses and will be launching new thematic courses similar to the annual courses. Watch the trailer for more information on our training programme and be on the lookout for new courses on our newsletter, social media platforms and website.
