Fikir is a Research Officer working on conflict sensitivity in Humanitarian, Development and Peace interventions in Ethiopia. Her journey has taken her through institutions such as Amani Africa, the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Forum for Social Studies (FSS) where she contributed to research, policy analysis and dialogue on governance and regional peace.

Beyond the formal spaces of scholarship and policy, Fikir is actively engaged in civil society and community organizing. She believes that knowledge must be democratized, voices of the marginalized amplified, and dialogue reclaimed as a tool of liberation. Guided by a radical vision of social transformation, her work insists that peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, solidarity, and inclusive participation.

She holds an MA in Peace and Security Studies from the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University, both awarded with Very Great Distinction.
