The RVI US office and the Chinua Achebe Center presented a conversation at Bard College on 21 March between Zimbabwean writer NoViolet Bulawayo and Teju Cole, author of Open City and Every Day Is For The Thief. NoViolet's story "Hitting Budapest" won the 2011 Caine Prize for African writing. Teju Cole's novel won the 2012 Hemingway/PEN Award. Teju's "The White Savior Industrial Complex", published in March in the Atlantic Monthly, has become the most widely cited of the many ripostes to the Kony 2012 campaign video.
