It was held in Kenya, from 14 to 21 June 2014. The Great Lakes Course covered Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (with an emphasis on the eastern DRC). It was taught in English and French, with simultaneous translation, and was held in Burundi, from 28 June to 5 July.

The RVI’s annual field courses are intensive, week-long training events that provide the basis for an understanding of current political and development challenges in three sub-regions. More information can be found here. The English and French prospectuses containing further details of the syllabus, teaching staff and locations will be available in December 2014. Accounts of previous years’ courses can be found here.
