The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) seeks a capable and dynamic manager, well networked, with good marketing and facilitation skills, experience in research and a keen interest in countries in east and central Africa, to develop the Institute’s work in education and public information. This is a senior and pivotal role in the organisation that will lead RVI’s strategies of Transferring Knowledge through Education and Training and Exchanging Knowledge through Public Information and Dialogue.
You will design and manage a range of educational courses for development professionals working in east and central Africa and convene seminars, workshops and roundtables on critical topics through the Rift Valley Forum. You will cultivate relationships with major research institutes and research networks in Africa and be responsible for developing RVI’s network of Fellows.
You are likely to have at least a Master’s degree in a Social Science subject. You will be experienced in training and educational methodologies, including blended learning and innovative training, and have excellent facilitation skills. Your ability to work with a diverse range of academics, activist, policy makers and civic actors will be essential.
